Children and Youth in ACTS

Remember now your Creator in the days of your youth, before the difficult days come, and the years draw near when you say “I have no pleasure in them”

Ecclesiastes 12:1

Here at ACTS we recognise that the children and youth of today are the adults of the future and therefore the church of the future.

Every adult is shaped by their childhood, whether good or bad. It is therefore important that our children receive the right input from the church from the earliest age. That what they are taught reflects the word of God.

It is at the very heart of ACTS that the church is the centre of the community and a place of safety - the children of ACTS are taught that the word of God and dependence on Him can answer all of their questions in life. That God can and will if He is sought be their strength, provider, comforter and carer.

At the centre of the Children’s and Youth Ministry here at ACTS is the word of God and its application to life. This enables our children to live in the world but not be conformed by it.

The Ministry Team involved operate in an environment of honesty, openness and love. This means that they are prepared to speak Gods principles and precepts truthfully when asked difficult questions in an atmosphere of love by the young people.

Childhood and youth is a time to begin to develop a relationship with God. The excitement of youth and peer pressure can be a barrier to God if passing pleasures are made the focus of teaching and life. This is why eternal values are the lynch pin of out teaching.

Children are taught to honour their families and others that they come into contact with.

Our Lord Jesus Christ made it clear that children were special in His eyes, should they not be important in our eyes also?

Most important of all the children and youth of ACTS are taught to honour and serve God based on the word of God and to develop a relationship of their own through prayer,praise,bible study and thanksgiving.
