Re-open The Wells

From the earliest times of mans history wells have been an important factor in life. In the book of Genesis, we see there are great spiritual lessons for us to learn when it comes to wells.

Water in countries like Israel can be scarce during long hot summer seasons and due to the fact to dig out a well is hard work and if water is scarce this then makes them valuable. Abraham had wells dug but after his death the Philistines came and filled the wells with earth that Abrahams servants had dug

Gen 26:15-33

Verse 18  - Isaac digged again the wells of water: which they had digged in the days of his father Abraham for the Philistines had stopped them after the death Abraham; and he called there names after the names by which his father Abraham had called them.

Verse 19  - tells us as they dug they found there a well of springing water this word 'spring' means living.

Our lives and Lands have been stopped with earth, the things and ways of the world have centre stage in peoples lives where there is no room for God because we live in a materialistic world the emphasis on life and worth is your wealth. Sin is rampant in our country and in individuals life's social and moral standards have plummeted and the spiritual climate is freezing. Can this change? absolutely yes it can! How you may ask? by redigging the wells that have been stopped, by removing sin and make Room for God.

The way we do this is by going back to the original plan of God. Looking at His word and following what he says not what man may think or by following traditions in the church back to ApostolicTruthsThe Salvation Message Walking in Righteousness -The Fruit of the Spirit being cultivated in christians lives.

The first well that was dug had living water springing up this is speaking about a life source The Lord Jesus said whosoever drinks of the water that he gives would never thirst again. He is the true life source and we never need to seek out any other source of life except him. This water brings life and healing for wounded broken and lost souls.

The name of the first Well here in Genesis is Esek, it means strife or contention this teaches as we embark to open up these wells. We will have some difficulties struggles and challenges but remember to dig out a well takes work but once that life giving water starts to flow and you taste and see that the Lord is Good - you will want more. Satan is Gods enemy and he will try to bring about heartache, discouragement, strife and contention but keep digging.

The next Well was Sitnah - this means accusation. The bible tells us that satan is the accuser of the brethren it is all part of his work to try and impede or hinder you in your process, he will bring all sort of thoughts to you - who do you think you are? how can you change? this is not for you? he will try to get you to question God and what he is doing in your life. He may even use others to try and discourage you keep digging.

The next Well they dug was called Rehoboth at this well there was no striving, Praise the Lord. At Rehoboth Well they said the Lord has made room for us and we shall be fruitful in this land. What a message in this verse, God makes room he starts to enlarge our territory. God has made a place for you where you can be fruitful and flourish this isn't just talking about wealth in natural produce but spiritual fruit and productivity Keep digging.

Then the other Well was called Beersheba this means oath or promise in v24, we get a clear picture of the promise. The Lord appeared unto him the same night and said I am the God of Abraham thy father, fear not, for I am with thee, and will bless thee and multiply thy seed for my servant Abrahams sake. What a wonderful God to know that He is with us and His hand will bless our lives. when we keep digging. As you start to do this, you will find other wells open up for you in your life - Faith, Wisdom, Healing and more.... We used to sing a song "Spring up a well within my soul, spring up a well and make me whole." The Well that needs to be in your life is the Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore with joy shall you draw water out of the Wells of salvation.

There is so much more teaching to this study

I pray this will help you in your journey

God Bless
